The University of Florence, in accord with the Department of Antiquities of Jordan (DoA) and with the support of AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) is conducting a selection procedure based on qualifications to draw up a list of

Minimum 4 and maximum 8

TRAINEES

For participation in an international training programme managed by the Department of History, Archaeology, Geography, Fine and Performing Arts (SAGAS) of the University of Florence (Italy), financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (Italy) in the following units:



Courses Titles:
• 04. MANAGING, SHARING AND DISSEMINATING ARCHAEOLOGICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE WITH COMPUTER SCIENCES (intensive course);
• 05. ARCHAEOLOGICAL DOCUMENTATION FOR JORDA


The training courses in short:
-issued by appointed trainers from the University of Florence (Italy); 
-course consisting of frontal lessons, workshops/practicum and personal project/assignment;
 -frontal lectures and workshops will be held in Wadi Mousa and Shobak territories, Jordan and/or online.
-Course duration: 5 weeks (20 hours per week – including individual projects/assignments) for the standard training course option, or a condensed schedule with more hours per day, not exceeding 120 hours per course (including individual projects/assignments), for the intensive training course option. 


The training programs are issued within the framework of the Project “Programme in support of the socio-economic recovery post COVID-19 in the protected area of Shobak castle”, managed by the Department of History, Archaeology, Geography, Fine and Performing Arts (SAGAS) of the University of Florence (Italy), financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (Italy).



Eligibility:
- BA and/or MA candidates in Archaeology / Cultural Heritage / Tourism Management / History / Architecture / Engineering / Conservation and Management of Cultural Heritage / similar degrees.
- DoA and/or other institutions/companies dealing with Archaeology / Cultural Heritage / Tourism Management / History / Architecture / Engineering / Conservation and Management of Cultural Heritage / similar topics.
- Professionals, Trainer, Worker/Apprentice and/or Attendee in trainees/courses, dealing with Archaeology / Cultural Heritage / Tourism Management / History / Architecture / Engineering / Conservation and Management of Cultural Heritage / similar topics.
- Proficient in written and spoken English;



Requirements:
- attending classes and workshops in Wadi Musa and/or Shobak and/or online is mandatory;
- ability to independently reach lecture’s venues and practical workshop’s sites;
- ability to independently attend online lectures and practical workshops.



SELECTION PROCEDURE

Each application is valid for both training courses.Each applicant must select the two training courses, specifying priority based on personal interests.
Candidates may be selected for one or both training courses.
The Selection Board will assess and score each eligible application.
It is expected that the top 4 highest-scoring candidates for each training course will be selected.
All candidates with scores equal to the 4th highest scoring candidate will be included in the shortlists (4 trainees for each course).
Only shortlisted candidates will be evaluated based on titles, CV, and motivation letter.
Candidates not shortlisted will be informed accordingly by application@al-wabel.net , once the decision on the appointed candidate has been made by the Appointing Authority.

 

RESERVE LIST

The names of the successful candidates will be included in the reserve list. Candidates on the reserve list are not guaranteed recruitment.

 

 

CONDITIONS OF GRANT

The successful candidate will receive a grant for attending courses.

 

Type and duration of grant:

The successful candidate will be offered a grant for the duration of the training course. They will be required to attend lessons and develop individual projects/assignments during the training course period.

The mandatory training classes and workshops will be held in Wadi Musa and/or Shobak (where the UNIFI-SAGAS local office is located) and/or online.

 

Remuneration:

The trainees' grant is calculated as follows: 144,36 € (euro) per week (20 hours) * 6 weeks = 866,16 € (euro) per trainee.

 

Note: 28,87 € (euro) per day – 7,21 € (euro) per hour.

For training courses compressed into fewer weeks with more hours per day (totaling not more than 120 hours per course, including individual project/assignment), the total grant amount per trainee will be guaranteed: 866,16 € (euro) per trainee.

 

Grant termination clause:

The grant will be terminated if the participant fails to fulfil the activities as per the agreement terms. The participant must maintain an attendance of not less than 80% for each course.
