Shobak, Jordan – July 18, 2024 – The University of Florence, in collaboration with the Department of Antiquities of Jordan (DOA), proudly announces the successful completion of the first week of excavation for the construction of the access staircase to the museum, located under the Crusader period church of St. Mary in the Shobak Castle. The activities are part of the "Programme to support socio-economic recovery in the protected area of Shobak Castle," carried out with the support of AICS-AMMAN and implemented by the University of Florence in collaboration with the Department of Antiquities of Jordan.
